Hello all. Long time lurker and my first post here.
Just got my Husky 357 XPG project finished (complete rebuild). Saw runs nice but when assembling PTO side I noticed way too big side to side play on clutch drum, at least in my opinion. Travel is almost 2 millimeters (~.078” Norte Americano). It may run nice now but after some use worn pinion may stop pumping oil.
I checked my 346 XPG and play there is less than 1 mm. Both saws use same clutch drum, needle bearing and oil pump and pinion (same spare part #).
After some measuring I realized clutch drum bearing surface area on 357 crank is 2 mm wider than in 346. Is there some secret washer to be used on 357 that I’m not aware of? At least I didn’t find any on parts list or parts diagrams.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
