Ok guys, so what's the bee's knees for a 350 top end? My uncle has one that was straight gassed. I put a red Barn top end on it about 2 years ago. Here recently the oil pump quit. Fixed that for him and after testing I really wasn't impressed with it whatsoever. It's his main firewood saw...... So what say you??? 346,353.....

Can't go wrong with either a 353 or 346 top end. 353 has more down low and 346 revs like no tomorrow. My go to 50cc wears a 353 top with a widend exh port and good muff mod.

Biggest improvement has been the 455/460 oil pump, drive and rim setup. Realy liking that.

346 NE. I think it can be had for cheaper than the 353 top end too. You could probably get a take-off 350 top-end for shipping.

I don't think there is a wrong answer. I really like this little 350 platform.

I hadn't heard that one. Good recommendation.

I also prefer the 455/460 clutch cover with the tensioner in the cover. Nice upgrade, but a bit costly.

Ha! Yeah I forgot to mention that. That's a real good one too. I even found a red that matches my jred's.

Is this really a question lol? 346 NE. It does take a lot of work to get one to fit a 350. You have to grind a impulse passage in the bearing cap. As well as clearance plastic for the much larger transfer ports... so the cylinder sits down flat. Use a bearing cap that has fine thread screws. The coarse thread cylinder screws aren’t strong enough for the 346 cylinder. Make sure the screws don’t bottom out before the cylinder. Use a 346 muffler bracket and cut the second leg off. All said and done you have a 10.6lb 4 hp 50cc saw.

I didn't see it mentioned, the 350 and 353 cylinders are the same. The difference is the piston. The hottest top end out of the box for this platform is the 44.3mm 346. If you want to squeeze every doll hair out of your budget the 45mm Hyway quad port top is a good runner.

I have a NE 346, a 353 w/flat top Meteor piston, no base gasket, & a 350 w/ Hyway 346 clone cylinder, no base gasket.
346 is the choice and not much more expensive.

Now that’s light! Maybe even lighter than the mag case 353/346 platform.
I didn’t even do anything other than a base gasket delete and muffler opened up. Even still has the stock 350 intake tract/zama carb. I did put a unlimited coil on as the 346 cylinder has a lot more rpms than a 350 cylinder does. A guy could go crazy with a 359 intake tract and port the saw. Then it’s a crazy power to weight ratio. However there are some minor drawbacks vs a real 346... and it’s not exactly an easy build as well.

True Mason, not just bolt on and go. A BGD and 353 flat top piston does wonders for the little 350 all by itself.
