Husqvarna 261 for sale. Is in good condition. Used it last year for most of my wood cutting. Is a great saw. With a ported 262, just don't use this any more for obvious reasons!

Asking $275 on this saw, and will cover $20 shipping. Has 150# of compression. Did open up the muffler. Nothing serious, just made the current one bigger. Fresh fuel line, and have always used E-free gas since. Piston looks good. Would prefer to ship pho, to save on shipping.

Also have a Husky 61. Runs good. Recently split the case, and replaced all the seals. Fresh fuel line. I know the 61 is kind of looked down on, with the 272; but for what it is, I was honestly impressed. Only thing I know that is wrong with it, is the bent handle bar. I would like to get $175 for it.

If I'm way off my rocker on these just let me know guys. Had local guys get direction to come and get them this past winter, and never showed up, so would like to just move them, for something different. May be interested in trading for an autotune project saw. Any questions, feel free to ask!

Does this saw have the two piece ignition modules and what shape is the bar in if you don't mind my asking?

To whoever buys the 61, I will send you a nice, unbent top handle for the price of shipping.

That is one really clean early 61! And a heck of a price for over 60cc's on one of the most time-tested saw chassis ever built.

Off your rocker, not quite for the 261. IMO, $300 with shipping is on the high end. But it is in very good shape so local sales might be better. Avg 262's in New England go for $300 to $350.

How bout $275 and cover $20 shipping. Apparently I paid to much for it to start with!

Why not convert the 261 to 262 and ask 350 for it.

Do you have this posted locally? That would be a great Craigslist deal!

Yes I do. People around here, just don't appreciate a used professional grade Husky. It can be a clamshell Stihl for the same price, and they'll go for it. Go figure!

Or a homeowner 460 from Lowes. I deal with the same issues here in Maine. I had a mint MS360 for $350 and some kid came to look at it and said he can buy brand new for $75 more. I told him go do that. Husqvarna and Stihl hurt the used pro saw market with their home/farm/ ranch saws.

You have a great saw there.

depends on whether a person has a useable oem 262 piston already, which I do. Invest around 9.50 in a new caber and do a MM. That's how it's done.
True, but many people don't have a 262 top end lying around. If you have to buy it then it is not a great investment.

Well I have not been receiving email updates here and just now returned to this thread to see if bar photos had been posted. I liked what I've seen, so is the 61 still for sell @ $175.00, if so I will take it. PM me so we can set up contact info, thanks, Jeff.
