Selling a saw I picked up locally last fall. My dad used it this winter for a couple tanks and it runs great. Compression 150psi, still machine marks on piston. It has ID engravings on side of top cover, clutch cover and bottom of tank. PHO Looking for $240 shipped to lower 48. Thanks.

Thanks, yeah I really like it but I have a ported 359 and 550xp so i'll never use it. I gave my dad his pick of the 257 or a 455 rancher for Christmas and for some reason he picked the rancher.

I'm new here so I'm not up on all the acronyms yet, does CAD=chainsaw addiction disorder? If so I may already have it, I currently have a 42cc Poulan pro I bought a few years ago for a storm cleanup, I have a Husqvarna 51 that's torn down awaiting new top end parts, I have a MAC 10-10A that i've recently serviced as well as a Homelite Super E-Z Auto that I've serviced. Currently I'm trying to sell the Poulan and the Homelite, I think I'm gonna keep the MAC 10-10A and I'm not sure what I'm going to due with the Husqvarna 51 once it's back together. So yeah I'm a bit hooked :D

If you don't already have CAD, that 257 will likely finish you off.... ;) Next thing you know, you are asking yourself why you have 8 saws ranging from 36cc to 94cc and why you are investing so much time studying and learning how to port a cylinder, to the detriment of your married life in the sack!!

I'm not gonna lie, I've been tempted to try some grinding and timing wheel on the 257... Or at least start with a base gasket delete and muffler mod. But for now she's all stock and a great runner. Pleaae someone give her a new home.

Only 8?.........Slacker.

My goal is to get down to twelve saws. Six work saws, and six collector saws......of course this doesn't include my kids saws.

I'm not sure how many folks have handed a 15 year old a professionally ported chainsaw(359) and said, "here, this is yours, now leave mine alone"......but I have, and he's now 17, and quite a good cutter. My 10 year old boy has his own Shindaiwa 377 and MS180. My youngest girl(15) uses the 341T....

Ok, i'm willing to trade this saw for a 42" bar with at least 1 chain and you pay shipping on the bar, chain, and this saw. I want to gear up to try some milling. I'd like D009 large husky mount but I could use an adapter for a 12mm stihl mount also. I'd prefer .404

What gauge bar and chain combo is the 257 set up for? Rim or spur?

It's got a 3/8 rim 7 pin currently. It'll take any gauge...

$200 shipped to lower 48? If it's not gone Friday night I'm putting it on AS. Come on make me an offer someone. She's a good saw but I gotta make room for a bigger milling saw and can't justify 3 in the 60cc range.

This is even more enticing, depending on if a saw I have listed on ebay sells I'll be in touch, this saw use the standard husky small mount?
