I bought a used husky 22 ton splitter. Splits wood ok but is slow, like 30 secs. Someone suggested it was the pump stuck in the low. Here is what i have done to try to figure it out. New pump, changed out hydraulic oil, new filter, a couple new hoses. I have notice that most of the box store splitters have metal tubing going from the front of the cylinder to the valve this on doesn't has 3/4 hydraulic hose will this matter? I have not looked into the valve, any ideas, splits wood good ever knotty stuff. Sorry for the long post🙂

That steel line being swapped out for a hose shouldn't be a problem at all. I have the same splitter and it was quite slow with the original 11gpm pump but more than adequate.

I got tired of the poor pump to motor alignment wiping out the coupler so I upgraded to a predator 212 and 13 gpm pump. It's much more enjoyable to run now. Here's a couple pics of my setup.
