The 2100, 2101, 298 and 285 share the same crankcase. But the 2101 and 2100 have a manual oiler override in the fuel tank. The nipple is for the manual oiler if it was equipped with such.
When I sawd timber with 2100, I would seek out the jungle muffler with the louvered lower bolt on exhaust port. I would open it up, and add another deflector above it pointed down. Small increase in power compared to opening up these new choked up EPA saws.
