I've got family on the NC coast. Mom left yesterday to go inland and stay at one of my brother's house. My brother Phil and his wife are staying at the coast.

Definitely does not look like a storm a person would want to "weather out" for sure. Hoping everyone at and connected to HL Supply is in a safe place, as well as all the people in this storms path.

Did some of you fellas see the pics of Daytona International Speedway? Crazy where the water level was. I can only assume they were legit pics posted by a news deal around there...that's what they claimed to be anyhow.

My daughter drove here to mid-Ga Thurs afternoon...cancelled college classes for Fri. She goes to school at Ga Southern University in Statesboro, Ga, less than hour from Savannah. They been getting hammered with rain and high winds and will continue well throughout the night into tomorrow morning/afternoon/night.

Nothing here to report in mid-Ga. The outer bands are just getting to us but it's windy and a scattered rain at best. Rained a little here this afternoon but hardly got the ground wet. We're looking at 90 tomorrow, little overcast, and no rain called for. Folks around the coastal regions slam to NC have certainly got the wet stuff and winds coming as Matthew moves northward before turning back out into the Atlantic.

Stay safe folks if in the path and hunkering down, riding it out.

My sister lives near Beaufort SC. Biggun came down on their house but the damage isn't too bad. Tree's down everywhere. If they weren't a 10-12 hour drive I'd be there to help.

Heard from some friends in the greater Charleston area this morning. They are getting quite a bit!
We are praying for them as well. One weather report said this is the largest storm since Hugo

I am about 100 miles inland from Wilmington. So far all we are getting is rain, but we are getting a lot of it. There were dams failing last week near Fayetteville, I can only imagine the amount of flooding that is soon to come from these rains we are getting now. There are flash flood warnings all around me right now. I am fortunately on high ground. @Wolverine , I am glad the damage was not too bad.

Talked with a Jarhead buddy of mine who retired from the Corps and lives in Beaufort, SC...he said he's got a dozen and a half good sized trees down on his property. Said one missed his house by a couple of feet.

Just saw a video of a large tree blowing over in Jacksonsville FL. Looks like it barely missed the homeowners house.

How did everyone fare through the storm? My power flickered a few times, but I never lost it. Spent all day cutting trees out of the road at my mom's and cutting some at my wife's aunt's house. @Gentleman , Did the HL Supply warehouse make it through unscathed?

We got power back on yesterday. Still no phones or internet at work. They say it could be another day. No damage here.
I stayed at my house. Not too bad, just some trees down.

Probably next weekend unless you want to tackle it one evening. Won't take long...right off of Wagstaff. I just didnt come prepared yesterday. Need the pole pruner and possibly a ladder to get on the roof. Want to be ginger on the shingles.
