D.C Is only like 85 miles from me. Not sure about the airlines, You are welcome here with your dad if need be!! Thanks Charlie.
Thanks Charlie, I appreciate the offer.
The organization that does these things was worried about not being able to get into D.C., then once there not being able to get out. They're going to reschedule for a later date.

I hope you don't get rains like you had earlier this year. You guys have endured a bunch already.

Notice just came up that it was downgraded to a category 1 storm. We shall see.

Still not good!! I have a farmer landlord up here from Charleston South Carolina. That was told to leave his house two days ago. ( His son decided to stay ) Hmmm!

I think that I'd be tempted to stay as well.
I'd hate to return and find that some a$$hole had stolen all my stuff.
With a decent generator, some supplies and a couple guns, you could hold out quite a while.
If I was in an area I knew would flood, I might think differently.

Several of my friends from the coast came inland before this thing hit. At the NC coast and Outerbanks it is very bad.
They are saying the brunt of the rain is coming Saturday and Sunday here. I truly hope they are wrong. The flash flood
warnings are extended through Tuesday.

New Bern, my old stomping grounds and where I lived back in my MCAS Cherry Point Corps days, got hammered...as well as many other places. Just unreal some of the flooding that's going on.

Indeed! I saw some news reel from that area yesterday. Pretty bad flooding. We are slated to possibly get 10 inches of rain here.

Seen on the weather channel that some places had 24” of rain and suspected to get at least 20” more

Hope y’all are staying safe and making it through the chaos. I was stationed at Langley AFB VA when Isabel hit, not an experience I’d ever want to repeat. I got stuck for the storm because I had to fix the last F15 on the base so it could Evac to Indiana. Got it airborne one hour before the storm made landfall. Had never seen the Hampton Roads peninsula so deserted and quiet as I drove home...kinda creepy

Down south and east I understand is very bad. Saw some aerial from Lumberton NC -- it looked like a pond with houses.
Even those in the edge of SC from here in Chesterfield and Cheraw are still dealing with a lot of water. The town where I used
to live reportedly got 16 inches of rain. :(
