Some guys are just not happy with how a saw runs at all!

I have seen Your posts (and skip most), You are hairsplitting every topic.
Fine by me if it makes You any happier.

Cheers :beer-toast1:
Expectations vary.
Hairsplitting is a comment that half assed people make when they cant or won't do thinks right.

I gathered the maintenance team for the college that I work at around me the other day and did an instructional on filing. I figured if they understand the work that goes into hand filing a chain and setting rakers, they’ll be a bit more careful about where they’re sticking the bar when cutting around rocks and debris. I think they came out of it with more respect.

I've been working with my son on round handfiling. He's not perfect yet but has picked it up quicker than I did. What set the wheels in motion for this was him touching the dirt with the 550xp let him run. He understands now that each time he touches dirt it makes for more work.

excellent. i hav a friend that has five tree crews that he manages. he brought me some chain to grind so they could see the difference between a sharp chain and the ones they run into the dirt. i told him to take some of the new round chain get some files and make them hand file them back to sharp and do the depth guages to at the end of the day when they are tired and ready to go home. that it would only take a few days for them to appreciate keeping the chain out of the dirt and rocks. once they get that habit them bring me his chains and they will truely notice the difference and do better to keep them sharp because now they know how much it takes to make their job easier. that just putting a new chain on because they are there isnt a viable option for poor chainsaw handeling.

As needed...

The 2511s have a very narrow power band, once out of tune, bye bye power.

1/12th in small increments will do wonders.

Easy start, easy re-start, idle, idle to WOT no bog, WOT 4stroking under "light load" all conditions that when out of tune will make life hard.

I maybe adjust mine once every couple of days when I'm cranking out firewood. Other than that it gets tuned every time I'm going to be running at least a tank through. It sees farm/ranch use, it might not get touched for months and then run non stop for a week.
