Yeah it is not uncommon around here to use saws that way. I happen to go to Echo dealer today and while I haven't taken the saw apart yet I found out I can get a new piston for near $50 or buy a whole block for $75. I ordered a complete block for that amount. I have virtually nothing into the saw as it was thrown in with a group of saws I bought. I will post picture of it once I get it apart.

I've also seen super xls without the clutch cover (just guide plate and bar nuts) just for that purpose. Another fellow bought two ms170s specifically for round bales.

When I cut bales I use my 017. I've only had to do it a few times when the skidloader took a crap and I have a bunch of hungry cows too feed. The hole in the floor of the barn is about 2x3 and you need to get a 4x5 bale through it.

Well you had the chainsaw make the hole bigger. No more need to cut the bales. :clap2:
