The gullet is terrible and he is filling his depth gauges all wrong, I could hand file better than this hack i guarantee it!
It is better to have them ramped instead of flat ,if you ever saw how a chain cuts in slow motion ,the rakers actually lift the cutter some to help it bite in ,the gullets are personal preference if want to clean them or not ,the chain will still cut without them cleaned out ,it just helps speed a little cleaning them .What was wrong with his depth guage approach? I have done mine that way I think that'd be a fair setup 100 dollars is a bit much. I'd agree lots of people think they can file but honestly ain't "great"

i do round ground no square for me
Why should I be scared it's a chain race it's for fun.Dont matter we do round and square and work and race. Round won the work chain Round 1.
I will be doing a ROUND also in Rd3. I did a round in rd1 and 2 along with a square one.
If your scared say your scared . I guess cant back up your guarantee above.
One of the issues with free hand filing is consistency. Cutters may not all be filed at the same angles, or to the same length. Often, people end up with cutters that are different on the right and left hand sides. But if you pay attention to this, it is possible to get them fairly close.here is what my free hand looks like.
Here is what my 'free hand' looks like (the other one is holding the camera).
