Feels smooth by touch, will slide piston in without rings first see if it catches anything.Slide a piston up in it and feel for anything hanging it up. Nothing you can do about the lines up high. They'll cost you 5-10 psi in compression.
Make sure nothing protrudes into the bore in that spot under the exhaust and il probably last a long while
Could also stick a ring in there and push it up slowly across that area and feel for it. Ring is tighter to the wall than the pistonFeels smooth by touch, will slide piston in without rings first see if it catches anything.
I'll do that too.Could also stick a ring in there and push it up slowly across that area and feel for it. Ring is tighter to the wall than the piston
Thought about 32-1Use stihl ultra. The carbon it produces will fill the gouges in.
Will clean it up good see what happensMake sure those grooves on top don't have any ridges coming out. They probably do on both sides.
Take a small diamond ball and run the length of them.
Then polish the entire cylinder with a brake home and then scotchbrite.
You'll never make a silk purse outa that sows ear, but you'd be suprised at what will run and still make good compression.

On this jug, with the permission of the new owner, I smoothed the damage (groove) with a diamond ball. The darn thing makes the same compression it did before the damage.
