So, I checked the usual four credit reporting agencies and the two checking account reporting agencies - all good. Checked LexisNexis (LN) and was not happy. 55 pages of incorrect information - all used by various companies to set my payments and/or rates for service.

They had combined data from three other people into my account. My insurance rates are determined by claims history and it's not right in LN, so I'm paying more for car insurance than I should be.

I had the DMV assign various accidents and tickets to me. They didn't read the full name or middle name or birth date. also no cross checking on vehicle(s) registered as well as home address. I do not know how long that had been going on . Found out when I went to a different Ins company and the agent calls back & says you got all this stuff on your record & you told me none. ( plus I never ownd a Monte Carlo) Took six months to correct. All the dvm persons did was pick the first initial and last name. lazy bxxxxxx.

I am trying to deal with the DMV here and trailer issues. I was waiting at the door when they opened the Monday after the 4th. I thought I had all my papers in a row but they did not even look. I had my long dead father's death certificate and she asked "where is the other one". I looked at her and said "the other one, hell he only died once" What a fiasco

IRS is worse. can't get a straight answer, and none of the answers are the same.

Have caught two clericals and one attempt of fraud by keeping tabs on my credit. Have also had folks try to steal my identity twice, which I'd have never known about other than the letters from the Justice department who sorted it out on their own in both instances with no ill affect to my existing data/info/accounts.

I don't agree with the credit score scam, but am unable to live outside of it as I am not independently wealthy, nor do I live in a tent.

It's only going to get worse too as agencies and companies incorporate AI as a part of their information management function.

AI is fast and can do the work of dozens of humans at one time but it makes a lot of mistakes. As society grows and becomes more
complex, companies will rely on AI more and more to keep pace.

I am off to go deal with Illinois Secretary of State's office (DMV) again tomorrow. I hope to be first in line when they unlock the doors. I bet this time she says....." This death certificate is from Iowa. We need one from Illinois".... Well no chit, folks do not get to select what state they die in. I hate credit card companies, DMV's, lawyers, a nd most all court offices.

Would bringing Your dad to the DMV help things along?

Yeah, I know how that sounds - but imagine the tellers reaction.

You: Here, this is my dad. Any questions?
Teller: "screams, faints"
You: 'Cmon dad, we are done here. Let's go for a cold one.

Apologies if inappropriate.
I am just brainfarting. ;)

That is funny:). Two of the wildest experiences I ever had at the DMV were with my Dad. I will explain a bit later.

I am leaving in a few minutes and I am betting it will be a long, frustrating, and expensive morning.

I was calm but I have to go back again next week as one of the women I needed to see was on vacation. My checkbook did get raped though and they did not even provided the lube

I am amazed at all the run-around I get there.
July 8 I paid $154 for a trailer plate that was $48. That was for one of my trailers and all I need was a new plate and sticker
July 8 They would not process the other trailer plate that was my long dead father's because they wanted a second death certificate.
July 18 I go back with the other death certificate. She barely looks at it. I tell her a need a plate and a title and I write a check for $201
July 18 I go in another "window" inquiring about a different issue. I am told that person is on vacation and to come back next week with a history report that THE DMV PRINTS. I tell them I have one from January. They say that is too old. I say how old is too old they say they do not know but write them a check for 420 and they will give me a new one. I write the check they hand me the sheet of paper and say "see ya next week.
July 23 I predict I will walk in there at 8:00AM with the paper THEY PRINTED 5 days earlier and they will say "That is too old, write us a check for $20 for a new one" They do not even need the information on the *f-wordin paper because it is right thee on their damn computer screen.
