A041 GB 18" 3/8 lp .050 68 dl bar with Stihl PS3? chain and a @Red97 modified rim that allows you to run this combo on a Dolmar 421 with a rim sprocket set up. I believe that this will also fit a bunch of echos since it's an A041 mount.

If you want to run a rim drive 3-8lp sprocket on a 421, this is how to do it. At the time it was the only way. Joe set it up when he ported my Saw. It's smoother than .325 and slightly faster, but I'm going to stick with .325 to share the same chains on a few different saws.

This combo has done a few test cuts and has never been sharpened, but honestly it doesn't need it. It don't think the Stihl chain box is listed incorrectly.

I know yours is ported and mine is stock but how does it pull the 18 inch bar?

Easily...my ported 421...for a ported saw it is very well mannered, like wouldn't know it's ported unless you ran a stock one. It starts and idles like stock. However, It has more useable power throughout the powerband. It takes a lot more to stall it out in the cut. Not much louder. It's like using a stock 026 with .325 18" and 100x better AV. It's my dad's favorite saw.

Joe ran this bar set up on the stock saw in his build thread. It seemed to cut well, but you could stall it with a heavy hand (he was cutting some pretty hard and big wood). Trimming it would be great. It would give you a little more reach. It's long for an 18" bar. This set up would be great on one of the slightly larger echo saws.

I actually ran an 18" .325 .050 72 bar on it before it was ported. I bought it with a 16" but never ran it. I thought it was a really decent little Saw. I was cutting 10" and smaller with it and it worked great. Anything bigger and I just grabbbed a bigger Saw like my MoJo 036.

Like all of my saws, I couldn't leave it stock when there are gains to be had lol.
