I've been impressed with my Dewalt 20v lithium framer. It is not as fast or strong as an air nailer, but I use it a lot on my jobs so I don't need to set up a compressor.
For around the house, It's a win in my book.
If you are nailing lvl's together, you will be setting the nails, but otherwise it's good.
Only thing is mine doesn't like the grip rite nails. But it doesn't skip a beat with paslode nails.

we used the dewalt some but they didn't hold up real well to everyday use . But they would be great for the occasional user.

Also mine are clipped/ offset head 31- 33 degree and have been happy with that setup. I think that is mainly personal preference though. I would probably avoid a coil framing nails they get pretty heavy but hold lots of nails

Bostich is the gun. It's the one you want. I grab them used and fix em when I see em. Seriously they are the best. Hitachi also makes a putty damn good one. Fear of pavement has it spot on. I've used them on a daily from roofing to framing. All good

Thanks for responses. Ill be getting a pnuematic gun. Want the continuity and perceived power
However, Im seeing straight, 21^, 28^, and 30^ nailers. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each. I can see where the angled ones could be better in corners but not sure why three different angles.
Comments? Suggestions?

The full round head nailers are more of a regional thing because some zoning requirements do not allow clipped head nails. (think California, eg) Those nailers usually use nail strips/coils with the nails spaced out and it takes a lot more space to hold them. Think belt fed machine gun vs rounds stacked in a magazine clip.
Another advantage of the Bostitch nailers is that many of their ordinary framers take longer nails than many other brands. And they have the power to sink them too.
