I have a echo blower and the spark plug is not getting wet. The previous owner put a new carburetor on it. It seems to have spark but it won’t even run on gas in the carburetor. Should I start with the possible spark issue or first start on the carburetor first? Thanks

Whenever I replace a carb I also replace all the fuel lines and impulse as well (if it has one) I also thoroughly check all rubber and things effected with air leaks..
First thing I always do is compression test and spark gap test. Should be 6mm roughly.
Also make sure fuel lines where put back in the correct spots. Does this system have a primer bulb?

The previous owner replaced the carburetor but did not replace the lines. I know the compression is good. I’m not sure why it won’t run on gas in the cylinder. It’s not flooded and it has spark

Sometimes week spark won't be enough. That is where a spark gap test helps you can see not only that it has spark but strong enough spark. What is the compression at?

It would help if we had the model number as we could look at the setup.

First you need to get it to hit before moving on to the carburetor. Most of these Echos if a 2 cycle version uses a reed valve so directly priming via the spark is possible..

Replace the spark plug with a known good plug. They can have outside the engine but fail under compression. Ignition timing must be right (sheared flywheel key is possible). If ignition timing is off no matter had good of a spark or compression you have it will not start or run. As Corey said use a spark gap tester but only tests the ignition coil but at you will know if the coil is good or not. Even then if the coil HV lead has one spring type terminal that pushes into the wire it could broken the wire lead causing lost of spark.

Compression must be at least 100 psi. No guessing at it use a test gauge. Compression can seem strong pulling the rope and still be below 100 psi.

As AVB said, knowing the model number would be a help.

I have seen it more than once on Echo blowers where the flywheel key is sheared, and although it will spark, the timing of the spark is not timed properly near the end of the compression stroke, so you don't get the engine to fire. Quite a few of the recent Echo models (PB-251, PB-250, etc.) have the flywheel key built into the flywheel (Opama brand flywheel with laminated metal overlaid with polymer fins.
Below is a link to a youtube video discussing an Echo blower with this problem.

The blower is a es-250. I am taking it to my dad’s shop this weekend for further testing
