You can thank the British government for that I think. I sent some greasy 090 parts to a member here in Cumberland and they were returned by
the British customs office. I did get the parts back but had to pay return shipping.

My understanding and what makes me so mad is that it will be destroyed, as they have done with antiques of others in the past. @Wonkydonkey ?

@ajschainsaws probably knows the most about it as he imports and exports a lot of stuff. I know they've given him a lot of trouble with small engine and chainsaw stuff.

David, You have to watch with the global shipping program now as restrictions have changed on complete chainsaws from certain countries. Saw parts are a different classification. But complete saws well you see what happened. I have experienced the new changes.

I bought some Dolmar parts off of eBay Germany; shipping was only $5(!). Then they cancelled the order: it seems that DHL was used to shipping small parcels in the baggage compartment of passenger aircraft, and due to COVID, that volume was down, so they were not even accepting orders.

I have hopes he might have an idea of what to do. I don't even care if I get it, I just don't want it destroyed.

The world coming together to get further apart!

The US isn't too shipping friendly either.
For shipping to the US even small parcels under 5lbs now require a CN23 customs form listing package content and value in detail.

Sorry about Your unsuccessful saw purchase.

I got a complete saw from the UK a few months ago.
The seller didn't remove the bar and it was pretty obvious what was packed inside.
Non the less it sucks if they don't return it.

Hate to hear that, I bought a saw from England a couple of years ago and it was shipped with Ebay's global shipping without a problem.

Maybe the seller didn't empty all the oil and fuel out of it.

Thats a big bummer. Kinda sad if they really do scrap such a cool saw. Sadly I've seen them do that with a few items here and there. With the way it all works, it is practically 100% up to their discretion if the package gets through or not, and with the lack of communication from the shipping company, it is hard to get the item back. Although I would hate to say that they are just taking this guys saw with no reason or reimbursement. There has to be something else going on regarding him not getting the saw back. Ex: army property, restricted shipping address, reported stolen, etc....

I bought a real pretty 346 from a fellow in the UK that was intercepted. I got the same notice as you. The last I heard from the seller was that he was worried it would wind up in a bin to await destruction. I hope he got it back, was a a real nice saw. Stay away from Ebays Global Shipping program.

Damn that really really sucks I hate the fact it's going to be destroyed. I used to work with someone who had cars parts from japan shipping a lot. He had a car's front clip in one and it was under some scrutiny. (Just the front of unibody and engine of a cut car) He only wanted the wheels that were in container. Which were right at front door, he told me the value on them now is about 7k as it was a limited run. They took the whole container to be scrapped.

I always set my Fleabay and Amazon to only show USA sellers. Not only is there the risk of customs, but there is tons of counterfeit merchandise on both sites. They are aware of it and don't do anything about it. Look how many ads for blatant counterfeit Leupold scopes are on Fleabay.

Well I’ve had a read throu the eBay stuff and tried to find the info that would relate to this problem.
The problem is not knowing what was put on the shipping document.
The only thing I could really find was in the police doc thing, which I will link to. But I find it hard to beleave a green chainsaw should prohibited, unless it was documented as a army/military chainsaw. (I see in the item details, it’s discribed as a used ex army husky chainsaw),

see pic below, they could call it government property, even thou you could legally buy it here.
The only other thing would be smelling of gasoline I guess.

Have you contacted the seller to try and find out what happened ?
from the listing number you provided in your pic, the seller doesn’t have any more listings. I'm wondering if eBay has stopped his account, or it could be that he has no other items to sell ?
I know some delivery couriers will not except chainsaws but will except a small engine and engine parts.
It would be good to find out the full info, even if it were to help others in the future

I will follow this thread just incase I can help out more.
