My 3.5 eco boost is actually pretty impressive. Pulls my 19’ boat well and gets 14-17 depending how fast I drive. Empty running 55-65 I get 19-23 depending on wind but am a little leary on the 2 turbos. I change oil at 4000 when ford says can go 10000 but I think oil is cheap insurance for the turbos. Full synthetic and ford filters. Starts anytime in winter also which my 7.3 didn’t without being plugged in so not great for ice fishing.

I’m not saying gas engines aren’t good. My wife has the Lincoln mkc with the 2.3 eco boost and I like it. My crew cab short box running empty at 70 will get 22-24 on the high way. I know lots of guys that have big ice castles and pull them with gassers. Just not me

2014 gen one, 3:32 rear end 4x4 crew cab xlt 5.5ft box. Need to keep your foot out of it accelerating or mileage drops pretty hard. Kinda wish it was a gen 2 so I wouldn’t need to worry about carbon on valves. Wife has a 2016 escape awd with a 1.6 eco boost gets 30-32 highway. I’m at 49,000 and wife’s is 18,000 so still fairly new. Guy at work had his timing chains and cam phasers changed out at 48,000 but he’s hard on stuff and changing oil at 10,000 miles.

That’s the point of the gen 2 dual stage port and direct injection. Ford and all the European manufacturers are going to it now to keep the intake valves clean. I’m just going to use the sea foam intake cleaner and hope it does good enough. Sorry didn’t mean to change this into a truck thread. And unfortunately gm is going to have the same issue with the new 5.3 since it’s di.

Agree its easy to derail a thread. Wonder if we should delete our post not to clutter his thread what you think.

I think we can just get back to his saw for sale so he can get his truck fixed. Hear dolmars are nice never had opportunity to run one. Not very popular in northern mn.

I’m waiting on snow or I’m going to be selling my sleds for a toy hauler to do more wheeling. We had a bunch of rain and a little snow and the roads down here were terrible yesterday. Took me 2 hours to drive to Minneapolis which only took me 45 minutes this morning. It also took me 1.5 hours to drive from Minneapolis to Woodbury yesterday morning as well. The highways were much better this morning but side roads still are not the best.
