How this chainbrake comes apart? It's an aftermarket brake for a Poulan Pro 305. It looks like a brake for a Husky 61 but the locking mechanism on the cover is different. The way the chainbrake works is the same. The screw in the front that "holds" on the brake arm is threaded through the cover, not on the little nuts on either side. Don't want to force something that might be hard to get parts for. Was going to send it to Mike to paint but got to get it apart first. Any input welcome...20171224_102458.jpg 20171224_102519.jpg 20171224_102600.jpg 20171224_102749.jpg

Already pulled that and the handle didn't move a lick. Don' know if husky had one exactly like this that someody has taken apart. Don' know which, if any, pins have to be driven out...

I think that inside piece is like a t-nut that has a "shaft". Loosen the allen screw and then tap it to see if the other piece moves.

I tried that too. I took it about 1/4 of the way out and tapped, or should I say beat, on it. No movement. The sleeve under the nut does not go into the cover like on a Husky. It is only a cover for the screw and goes in as far as the metal brake assembly against the cover.

This pic of a 61 chain brake shows it as 2 pieces. Maybe they are threaded together somehow?
