I have a dishwasher in the shop for cleaning parts, works well enough on plastic parts but does not always get the cooked on oily/sawdust/carbon residue and certainly fades paint on the older saws.

If you want it, just stop by and I will help load it up and make better use of the space.

Some dishwashers make their own hot water, while others require a hot water line- is this accurate?

You hook up the hot water line to the dishwasher for its supply line. They also have elements in them that can supter-heat the water to a sterilize mode if you select that setting (varies by model, etc).
