I have a Stihl BR600 backback leaf blower, that I had to reseal the crankcase on.
In getting the plastic impeller wheel off, I used a make shift piston stop which was a glow plug insert that fit my compression gauge (that fit the 1980's Ford 7.3L diesel glow plug hole). It was a fairly hardened piece of steel, but the threads fit the spark plug hole on the BR600 and it worked great as a piston stop to be able to undo the impeller wheel.

However in reinstalling the spark plug I saw a shiny crescent mark on the piston top, through the spark plug hole. Pretty sure it was where my make shift piston stop pressed against the piston.

What are the odds this damage becomes a problem in the future?
