Eric, bring the dyno electronics along.
Nothing certain but I may have the latest setup ready to at least try out by then.
Cobbled together some usable hydraulics, have spun it up but haven't gone as far as setting up the RPi to look at the load cell data.

Oh my! I will do that Bill. Will be major interested just to see the raw load cell data how much or little vibration from noise.

Yup, you and me both. I'm a little apprehensive about it, the pressure gauge needle was jumping around more than I liked.
Just haven't had time to do it, have been putting all my available resources into the hardware, kind of an 11th hour effort as usual.
More than a few late nights...

Even if all we do is collect load cell data at the latest rate of 400 samples per second I can plot that and compare to the graph I did a ways back. You and the other guys would know better than me, but perhaps the gauge needle is just suffering from vibration and it's not so bad -- one way to know I guess would be to have a digital gauge instead of one w/ a needle. My electronics are essentially a digital gauge so that will help.

Below is the graph from a while back -- pretty tough as a human to see the proper curve line.
I'll bet the new setup will be a big improvement! Even if we still have to do some software filtering to clean it up it will still be a huge improvement. What's nice is we can try different filter sizes by just changing parameters on the web interface.

One thing I won't have time to change before then is auto collection criteria and dealing with duplicate points -- the motorcyle brake created a nice curve of RPM whereas a needle valve we will probably have dwell points that we won't want in the output graph (creating flat spots in the curve). Worst case I can save the data from various testing and create the graphs later on by post-processing. Then I can add to the software to automatically deal with the new dynamics of it -- the hydraulic setup w/ needle valve. I plan to have all data runs save the raw data so when it comes time to adapt to @Dieselshawn setup, any post processing to deal with the data can be tweaked from the saved raw data.

Bill, if it's too jumpy maybe we can use a hydraulic accumulator as a dampener to even it out.

Lol. A little anxious are you?
I am just about all ready. Got the saws ready and fueled.
I am looking forward to this. Last years was really awesome. Putting faces to names. Getting to know everyone. And running some really good saws.
Since I went last year with my 2 stock saws, Lol, I bought a JMS Saws ported MS440, and a drf255 ported 026. They are truly amazing. I am just a rookie compared to everyone else.

Lol. I spent most of this past weekend sharpening chains and checking over saws. Still have to change the oil in my truck plus a few other things.
Monday-Friday are really busy around my place. Kids have things going on most nights and my wife and I both work. I try and do what I can when the time allows. Busy, busy
