I need some knowledge guys. Short of replacing this crankcase do you guys have any ideas on a good way to seal this up. I'm all ears. Pics to follow.

Bore it oversize and sleeve it would be my first thought.
My thought there is I would be splitting it so I might as well put another case on it. This is a 272xp! If thats helpful!

I know I could one shot fix it but not sure how well the seal would ever replace after that.

Originally I was gonna whip some JB weld in the low spots and let it set. May still be an option but I know someone on here has experienced this before.

Isn't there a larger O.D. with the same I.D. seal from some other saw model? MS660? If so then boring it oversize to match will be as good as new.
What's the measurements of that seal? I have a few different saws to look at to see if there's the right match.

Still splitting the cases to do this. So back to might as well just find another case half. Or I guess that's my opinion. And and then I would want new bearings yada yada. Which is a great option. But i guess if this were my saw. I would be trying to get the seal to seal. Then when the time comes to put in new bearings I would replace the case then.

You can always justify another saw.

Lol. Red silicone is good for a mess that's it. I usually use motoseal. But if I try this method what sealant would be the key. O know motoseal dosnt work well on transfer covers!
There's a bunch out there. Threebond has lots of choices. I think it's 1211 that's pretty well liked.

I assume this is a customer saw.

Ask the customer what he wants and if his budget and schedule allow for replacing the case half, or dictates slopping some motoseal around the crank seal.
