The cylinder is a bottom fed quad port.
The statification process is so simple on this saw it's not funny. Basically when the piston goes up it draws fuel and air into the crankcase like normal. At the same time it draws just air into the transfer ports. So when the piston goes down and pushes the charge into the cylinder there's air already there to be put in first. It has a simple Reed valve to make it work is all. The piston is just a normal full piston.

Otherwise it is just your basic chainsaw, although I was fairly impressed with how it works, pretty simple and pretty slick when you get down to it.
The only thing that gave me trouble was the fasteners. The heads are fairly shallow and the driver had to be about perfectly aligned to not have it turn out of the head. Otherwise everything fit really well.

Fine MidWest engineering! Snow looks all but gone, beautiful spring day for some alone woodcutting time.
