Clutch rebuild

I need to have a clutch on a Titan saw rebuilt. The shoes have a car clutch type material on them . I will post some pictures tomorrow. Anyone know where I might send this clutch to for a rebuild. The shoes have a arc to them and it looks like they are riveted to the backing. Kind of hard to explain . So who can rebuild this clutch for me. I now there is someone out there who can do this somewhere.

It has been a long time ago, but there was a clutch and brake pad rebuilder in my area, I have no idea if he still exists.

Someone in the US must be doing rebuilds of this kind!

Find a guy who does clutch and brake shoe re-lining

You could measure the diameter and match it to drum brake shoe... drill out and rivet. I have an Efco pole saw with a clutch just like yours, one came loose and it became direct drive lol.

At this point you might want to re-line it yourself. Rivets, bonding glue or not and the friction material is all you need. Cut some lining off something and get to it. Line the drum with some sticky sandpaper to seat the shoes. Sand them down till they fit nice. Been there done that to old stuff. PIA to do.

In my area we have re lining shops that do both bonded and riveted linings for all applications, I have bought friction materials and rivets from them for my big trucks to do park brake bands, they relined brake shoes for an old front end loader we had and several sets of brake shoes, they go by the name, Friction Plus.

What would I call this material so I can google it and buy some. Don't mine the PIA part. Would it be friction material. Will try MacMaster Carr

And how do you bend it without braking it. Got to be a trick to it.

The friction material/lining I got was flexible enough to follow a roughly 10" diameter round band that clamps on a drum mounted on the driveshaft, acts as a park brake. Stuff was about 5/16" thick by 2" wide, not difficult to drill holes in it.

Thanks I knew they would have something. The lining I got looks to be about 5/8 wide. Wonder how hard it is to cut. Never messed with this stuff before.

Fan, ears, eyes, bla bla. Nasty stuff in there. Wizzwheel or hacksaw.

I used the clutch facing from a Ford to make pads for the brake on a Case asphalt roller .You can just cut it with a hack saw ,cut off wheel on die grinder etc .
