Just got this chisel bit cbn wheel from Cowlitz and was wondering if anyone has any experience using them ?
The guy I talked to at CRR said this wheel will outlast dozens of white, blue, salmon wheels, never needs dressed, can be re-coated for half the price and doesn’t over heat the cutters. Quite pricey imo but if it does what he claims it’s worth it, or did I just waste a lot of money?Any thoughts, suggestions or opinions are welcome.
Thanks guys,
Josh S.

I have one just like it and another they had custom made for me. The one they sell is a 6” wheel and will only work on the Simington grinder. He probably told you that. Anyway the first chains I ground with it were good. You have to “move around “ on it until you find a sweet spot. It took 6 months but I sent them one of “my wheels “ with my angles freshly cut and they duplicated it. I like it better. All he told you about the wheel I’ve found to be true so far. It’s a courser grind that I think I like, but it works good and NO DRESSING of the wheel at all, ever. That’s the nicest part. Here’s a pic of “my wheel “. image.jpg

That’s actually a very sharp corner, kinda blurry in the pic.
