Canada's Legal Weed and Buck a Beer.

Weed as of yesterday is now fully legal to buy in Canada, and Ontario recently reintroduced a buck for a beer.

Beer is $2 here.
No sure of what weed is, as I dont have to worry bout it.
The government will be sure and tax weed so much the underground will still be there.

Winnipeg, Manitoba city police wrote their first traffic ticket yesterday on the new legal weed when someone opened their freshly bought bag in their vehicle. $672 fine.

I can buy a 8 can pak of Kokanee beer here for $15 ($11.49USD)

I got a kick out of that ticket. $672 fine for hot boxing...

Weed in MB is running $9 to $16/gr from the liscenced vendors depending on the varietal. Street weed is about $5/gr... Early reports are that the quality and variety of the legal stuff is fantastic. There is supposed to be some $7/gr stuff coming but the stores are selling out of what they have so until supply meets demand I don't think we'll see the "value" weed at all.

I also think MB's refusal to liscence edibles is a mistake as that is where the money can be made and the illicit market can't compete.

I never will have the desire to buy this stuff or hope my own kids never do.
But like the saying "where there's smoke there's trouble" it's easy enough to smell if your kids are doing it or not.

Biggest positive thing I can see out of this up here in the north and city down towns is stoner street people crime would be less trouble then a bunch of drunks.

Just my opinion but a Thompson cop here agreed with me also.

I went into a pot store in Oregon when I was there last fall. Pretty incredible. I just had to see it for myself. Anyway, they had some $1/gram pot for sale.

One thing I will say is these stores are FANCY!!! The spec on some of the stores being opened rivals the highest end wine stores and is on par with Audi / Porsche stores or high end designer clothing stores.

Lighting budget for the one I am working on now is roughly $50/sq ft. Average residential construction is under $2/sq ft.
