Supposedly 8.8HP, 7500rpm max. That's a ton of torque.

Probably the torque was still lacking for some in those days, since this saw existed in a geared version (880G) in addition to the direct-drive version.
This guy has a few videos with the saw.

Their HP was probably different back then than today. I saw a Dolmar or something with HP listed as being way higher than practical. 8.8HP @ 7500rpm would be 6.16 ftlb of torque.
