Boat launching and recovery as a spectator sport

Not launchinh but i did learn a leaason today. Dont keep clutter at front of boat. On way with the watet being rough the the net pushed the trim button in the bow and the motor started trimmng up. By time i got boat stoppped motor was almoat out water and did that ever send a big wave in back of boat.

Just think he's driving down the highway at 70 mph... With out a clue!

I've got a buddy at work that couldn't back up a trailer to save his life. I always let him try for a while, just because it's so funny to watch. Then you have to turn your head and laugh.

A good friend of mine is general manager of a large Michigan boat dealer. He received a call from a lady that was on lake with her new boat, wanting to take her children tubing. She was very upset salesperson had sold her a boat that would not even go fast enough to go skiing and tubing, when she had described exactly what she wanted. Friend told her a tech would meet her at boat launch, because boat should have enough power for her needs. Tech returned and informed him boat was still attached to trailer and he had know idea how she could have done that.

I can back a boat, 90 degree turn off a public rd with my eyes closed. Never a pullup..
I can put a boat on a trailer, hook it and be pulled out the ramp even faster. BUT I HAVE DUN IT THOUSANDS OF TIMES IN MY LIFE.
Then ya end up waiting inline at the public launch on noobs or idiots who havent launched a boat but maybe 3 times in their life.
Then theres the 2 city boys who backdown short of the water, get out and put their ten horse motor on da transom. Then they pull the rods out of the back of the truck and start threading the guides on dem rods.

I walked up to two inconsiderate olfarts once doing that and demanded to see their deed to the boat launch property( public access).
Gave me a dirty look n started to mouth off.. I came firetruckn UNGLUED! They jumped in da truck n pulled up in the parking lot. Bout 4 boats launched in front of me in timely fashion, then my turn.
Went to park my truck, seen the idiots left the area.

Memorial day weekend is a great time to spend at the local boat ramp, good times to be had laughing at the antics by the half drunk boaters trying to back up a trailer...getting stuck, arguing with their spouse... Running aground, boats sinking from a forgotten drain plug etc.

I'm pretty sure I've witnessed a divorce or two in the making.

I agree my buddy thinks im nutz when i waltz up and say whats the hold up.one day at my local ramp water was low and a guy had backed his axle over ramp lip it was crappie seaon.i wanted to get to furthest end of lake there were like 6 boats ahead of me.i said whats up a guy said we are trying to get yhis guys trailer over ramp lip.i said is that truck 4 wheel drive he said yes i said put in it 4 wheel drive give the gas hell your holding up the line.us locals have fished here all our life and never done no stupid *s-word like that get it moved now.by the way you see that. Flourescent orange line spray painted on the floating dock.the one guy said yes i said well thats the line for end of the ramp its breaking daylight get your *s-word moved they ripped the whole axle out from under trailer it was hillarious
