Bar Oil and Chain Link Count

I added some left over power steering fluid to my bar and chain oil. Seems thicker and sticky now. Throw away or try to thin out ?

I have 2 pole saws, both have 8 inch bars. One saw's chain has more teeth than the other but both are 8 inch. Are the chains interchangeable ?

If the same drive link count, type and gauge, yes.
Most pole saws run 3/8 lo-pro .043g but some are .050

If the thing oils fine, leave it.

Thick and sticky is good, but not good if it is too thick to come out the oiler. Too thin and it just flings off the chain.

This happens, especially between different brands. While they may both use the same length bar, the sprocket on the saw head may be set back farther on one than the other, hence the need for different length chains between the two. What are the different driver counts on the chains?

Both are 33.

Shoot, I misread...you said cutters, I was thinking drivers...as long as it is the same pitch, gauge and drivers, you can use either. Some chains may have less cutters to help reduce drag that full cutter chains have (in comparison).

Just buy bar oil. It is $6.99 a gallon plus the $0.49 commie tax at the farm store.
