Just grab them by the tail, then reach up under and get them at the base of the neck, pinch the mouth shut, and lop off the head.

When I was a kid. We'd keep them alive for a week or so in a 55 gal drum.
Kept changing the water everyday.
It would take the muddy taste outta them.

This group met the deep fryer. Kinda tough, but tasty. I'll bet they'd be even better in a pressure cooker. Not real sure why I looked so *b-wordy that day. We had a blast.
