credit to - Tree Monkey (Scott) as I got the idea while listening to him talk for a few hours. I just kept quiet and learned a few things!

Everyone always talks about modding the muffler. You have more air going out. So, why not mod the air filter cover? and get more air coming in?

After closely examining the 661 cover. There isn't a lot of inlet space for air to flow into the saw.

So I have opened things up a little. See pics. And we'll see if there are any gains.

This will also test another theory I have. I am thinking the added air flow will keep the dust and chips from accumulating as much in the pleats of the filter.

These vents are also something I am considering trying as well.
