Ok, I hate proprietary bearings. They make no sense to me. What makes less sense, is to have a bearing in a chainsaw that is $40
Customers who use a saw in the field prefer a slim saw body, and them modern bearings is part of making slim saw, period!
Unluckily for you Husky is obsessed to make them saws as slim as possible, if you watch the introduction of 572 you could hear how much effort they had put in to improve the balance, to lighten the flywheel so the Gyro effect was reduced.
And frankly, why should they trow out them proprietary bearings, 40$ part in one 600$ saw, its peanuts.

acks has them for around $30. BUT BUT BUT BUT. If you scroll down, you'll see there is a POULAN bearing there for $20. SAME PART #.
it's something we have known for several years, there is alot snacks from Poulan, huh?

The balls come out quite easily. Haven’t tried to put em back yet.

I did hear that Jasha was making his own hybrid bearings. The balls are available. They just aren’t cheap, and they can only be bought for any reasonable price in bulk, 50-100 at a time.

The issue is wether or not the work is worth it. A hybrid 6202 can be had for $31. A 6201 for $17.

A 6202 SKF is about $3.50. Will cost $20 in balls to upgrade it. So we are talk $8.50 difference for a lot of work.

I’m more interested in the application of the balls for proprietary bearings, like PTO Stihl.

They are still in the plastic baggies. They were on the arm of the couch.

I was somehow letting them sit on there and they must have slipped off down into the couch.

I could have had the 346xp chassis together by now....and maybe another chassis or two
