661 seal problem

661 flywheel side seal is .0025 smaller than the case hole it's suppose to press into.

Bad batch of seals?

I've replaced a couple, they were tight. Are you sure its the correct seal ?

.0025 sounds about right. It needs to be a few thou larger, that's what keeps it in place. Try chamfering the opening alittle to help ease the seal in.

I think he's saying the seal O.D. is under sized and is a slip fit vs press fit like it should be.

I got 2. Both the same.

Correct on the under size seals.

Just use your finger to push it in.

Been there in the past. The wrong seal size, SUCKS!!!
Plasticote type paint will take up the difference
For a fast cure cook those babies under a light.

Never had to do 661 seals yet.

I had them double check the part # for the 2nd one I got.

I'm thinking it is a bad batch of seals from whoever their source is.
