Joseph Berto from Max Flow ( www.equiteemfg.com ) has really pulled out all of the stops with this NEW offering for the Stihl 661.

I'd love to install it on my 661, but my "Unicorn" is currently on its way to Missouri inside of a mail truck ........... :crybaby2:

One particular thing to be aware of is the orientation of the top plate. You need to be carefull that the plate has the two longer slots pointed up, so the carb anti-spitback cover can do its job properly, as shown in the first picture.

I'm told that he has a few kits ready to go ............... more are scheduled for production soon, so if you want one soon, contact him quickly !!

As soon as the big guy from Missouri is done running the snot out my 661r, and I get her back, I'll get some installation pictures. It figures, as soon as I send the Unicorn for a ride, Joseph gets a kit to me for it :BangHead:

Alot of research and developement went into this one, Joseph insisted on a great fit and better flowing area under the cover. Not an easy task. Several 3D versions had to be printed up and glued together for testing, including the air filter plate, then the production run had to be finalized ........................... it wasnt cheap or easy to get the kit this far. Lots of small adjustments went into the final prototype pieces.

All of that is Swahelic for: It was an expensive endeaver.
With the final product performing as great as the last prototype I was fortunate to test, this kit is worth every cent, IMHO. :number_one:

I was a tester as well...

These setups run very very clean with this filter cover. Here is one of my reports to Joe back in May.

video - this is a 3d printed prototype cover so it doesn't fit as well as the final production. (see below)

I ended up running the setup for 14 or 15 tanks (in various settings) before I thought it needed to be dusted off. I just used a rag to brush off the excess. Personally I think the way the cover is designed allows for a lot of extra air flow and thus the filter stays cleaner longer.

Final production cover - pics attached. Personally, I think it fits and attaches to the saw better than the stock cover.

Looks great. Oiled foam is much better than pleated filters IMHO.

Great job!!!

Expensive at first, but probably cheaper than another piston and cylinder

5 hours on a mill, was brand new.

Had the HD2, just too much dust milling.

It did have a small air leak develop from heat from the clutch side.

Working on a three foam layer around a K&N filter connected to a stack for this ,088, tired of spending money maintaining this mill saw

If it's costing you that much obviously your milling allot? Get a wood mizer?

Moparmyway and Redbull661, ( and others who helped too) Thank you for all the input and suggestions concerning the final version of this kit. I thought it was good after the first one was made, but it took nine more versions to get it right! The first shipment of kits are out ( ask your dealer ) and we are building more, but it will be a week or two before they are available.
We could have built them to a lower standard and the retail price would have been lower, but with the saw head approaching $1200.00 we figured it needed to be a high standard. I hope everyone understands we aren't getting rich building these things. We just want to support the professionals that have been keeping us in business for 25 years. Joseph.
