5XX series husky question.

I'm a little confused about these auto tune saws. Where is the computer on them? I was looking at the parts list and for the life of me I can't locate a computer. I always thought the carb was controlled by a computer, kind of like what you would see on an TBI Chevy or your typical EFI car. I was curious how much this replacement part would be if needed..

I'm not trying to start a debate or anything here. I was originally looking at a 372XP and a 390XP, but the 592xp caught my eye. I never really looked at these "auto tune" saws, so I'm curious about them and if they require a visit to a dealer when you have a problem since you don't have a fancy scanner to pug in, like you need for your car.

I think the chip is in the coil. But the carb has the auto adjusting needle. The basic of the auto tune carb is the same as the old school carb but the adjusting needles are replaced by a valve.
And they don't really need much plug in, just run it. If it doesn't run then claim your warranty.

The replacement parts are usually the valve or "injector". They can go bad or wear out, and the valve or entire carb gets replaced, depending on what can be found and cost.

The ECU for the 5 series saws is on the side of the carb and has the solenoid valve in it. It's a separate part off the side of the carb but Husqvarna hasn't designated a part number for it on any IPL's.
