Any known am mufflers for the 562 yet? Might need one or two to cut up this fall.

None that I know of, on my 562 I drilled the plate under the deflector out and put a few centralized holes in the baffle without any gutting. So far the saw seems a bit louder, a bit snappier, and a bit less hot.

You can buy used OEM ones cheap on eBay.

Trying to keep things simple, clean and easy. I have one extra used muffler. Just trying to avoid cleaning it before cutting open and welding on it. Anyone who has been inside one knows how much carbon they can collect. I've breathed enough of that crap. Trying to avoid more of it. Hence looking for inexpensive new am. New oem isn't horrible, just more that I want to spend.

Planning on keeping the original muffs intact. Incase I'm ever somewhere that I can't have a modded one.

I hear you.

I did a quick search. I can only find aftermarket ones for the 550XP/545. I will do a bit more searching tonight.

Have a immediate use for the 562 so I modded and gutted the muffler. May have went too far.

I'm thinking it's going to be a 50/50 if the flag melts or not....... If anyone has done the same thing and it's a 100% chance. Please let me know asap.

I did put three layers of heat tape on the underside of the flag. And the screen is back in place if that makes a difference.

Thank you.

Sup Steve! The 562 I ported myself had a muff mod of total decapitation. Splt in 2, right ont the seam, gutted and the Ole @StuntCockWelder tig welded the seam back up. All new opening was opened under stock deflector. Nothing past the outer edge of factory deflector itself. I put a half dozen tanks through it and no melt. Also 1 layer of heat tape on top cover. Frank has prob tripled my run time and no mention of burn on the flag. Maybe he can tell ya better but it's WIDE open:D

Howdy Nick. This one was done the same way. Chopped in half and completely gutted. I got a little happy with the burr and went past the deflector a bit. Oops........ I added a bit of header wrap to the underside of the flag. It's getting run tomorrow morning. She melts she melts. Will report back tomorrow night.
