Good morning everyone my 390 and 395 have been in back of my truck in the rain. 399 was fine 395 started ran a minute. Then died like it lost spark. I parked it in my shed later it ran fine. What would have gotten wet or caused this? Thanks Norm....

I'd check the wiring, spark plug insulation, and plug boot. May have rubbed through or is cracked a bit somewhere. Water gets in, things shift a bit while running/vibrating and it ends up being enough to ground it out. Dries out and the path to ground is gone.

Thanks Amigos. Luckily I always carry two saws for that reason. I pulled filter cover all good and dry. But doesn't mean no moisture I guess. On off switch doesn't work I choke or out. But figured it could still ground out of wet

Pull the wire off the switch or coil.

One time I lightly sprayed off a 257 with the hose, carefull not to direct the shower near the switch. Yep, no spark, pulled the wire, ran fine, blew out the switch , ok

Try some compressed air on that switch, it could retain moisture for a while otherwise

My dad would leave his saws outside in the sun and rain, and they still ran, Husqies too.

The 395xp has a little hook in the top cover to hold the spark wire, this can lead to a worn wire and when wet have a short path to ground. I would check the wire for abrasion damage in this area and replace if found.
