Don't really want to sell but would like to trade - I have a cylinder that i was going to use for a rebuild of 394 but decided to go 395 conversion route. The cylinder looks great and i will be glad to send pics or let you look at cylinder before deciding. I used muriatic acid to clean aluminum off then lightly and i mean lightly honed until nice and clean. Also have Oem coil - didn't need because i had too wide a gap - closed gap with dollar bill and had great spark. Have a 394 Walbro Carb - needs kit probably and i have the kit. I have several gasket kits some Oem some that farmer tech brand. I don't really want to sell but would like to trade for 372 that needs p/c rebuild that looks pretty good. Willing to put some cash in and more cash if 372 is in good shape. May sound weird but i really enjoyed working on the 394 and just need something else to work on !! Let me know what u have

I also have several Oem parts like spacer for intake and parts of 394 intake and rubber pick tubes and filters for oil and gas. A ton of screws for different parts of 394. A new 32" Oregon bar .063 and new skip chain that i probably will not use. It's just too long and probably cut my toes off with it. Decided to go with 24 or maybe 28.

Well turns out I’m in need of a high top and filter setup for the 394 i have rebuilt. It is not getting enough air to adjust new carb with the original air filter and top. Maybe i have used the wrong intake air filter connection but it looks like everything works together fits well but it’s starving for air low side needle will not adjust. I take cover and filter off and it adjust and screams like it should so i am looking for a top cover and filter setup for the larger air intake like was made for milling. My binlaw seems to think this will solve air problem so if you have this or know where it can be had i appreciate the info. Not above buying right out if no interest in my parts too. Thanks

A picture of what you have will help. There should be no reason for it not to run properly with the low top.

I can’t explain it either but saw runs great without air filter on it. Carb adjusted right out and idles and runs up great just won’t with air filter on. I can’t run it without and it looks like everything fits together great like it should. I have ordered a new oem filter and will try that when it comes but just don’t think it will solve problem. The filter I’m using is new not oem but doesn’t have a lot of oil on it and fits great but seems engine is starving for air when put on and seals are new and passed vac test so I’m really fishing here. Saw runs so good without filter i just want to figure this out and cut with it but can’t without some type of filter.

Did you check the metering lever height? How many turns out are you on the high and low?

Out 1 and half on high and 1 and 1/4 on low before adjusting without air filter on. The low changed things a little regardless of how much or which way i turned until air filter removed. Once air filter was off it adjusted fine. I really don’t know exactly where high and low is now but runs like it should without filter. I sent saw home with binlaw for vac test and he still has it. He is going to try oem filter and see if it makes difference. Maybe there wasn’t oil on new China filter i just figured they put a little on them from factory maybe not. I just know it’s restricted enough to choke it down

I see the difference in the clear fine screen or mesh filter and the one i have. Big difference i bet in how much air flows through. I will order one of the clear mesh ones and see what happens.

I had already ordered
The big filter and white plastic end of the intake that fits big filter and member sent me a top cover so I went ahead and installed. It runs like it should
Now but I bet the oem filter would
Have done the trick just didn't try it. Short of the story. Don't buy the yellow china filters. Pretty not smart on my end considering the piston that came out of it and if I was going to buy china something then it shouldn't be the air filter of all things
