So the new to me 390xp is missing one of the smaller muffler brace bolts that hold it to the muffler. Anyone know a husqvarna part # for it? Thanks.

For most saws, you can Google the model number followed by IPL and will get some sort of parts breakdown

I typed in “390xp ipl”. #7 holds the bracket to the muffler, #6 holds the bracket to the case, #4 holds the muffler to the cylinder

Thanks Kevin. Kinda hoped and expected to hear from you :). I should have just said, "Hey Kevin, can you tell me what bolt this?" But I didn't want to be rude or pushy...

What source do you use to order stuff like that bolt?

I have a few spares that I have removed from junk saws. If they don’t have the flange on the head, I have used Allen head screws from the hardware store

Thanks again. I'll take the one that's still attached out and see if I can find a match locally.

If it’s the one that goes through the bracket into the muffler, they should be m5 x 10 or 12MM or so. Any hardware will have one. The screws that hold the bracket to the case are slightly longer. Maybe 16MM

Looked it up. Got it and the concept of a straight edge and feeler gauges to set raker height.

They are used for lots of things. Anytime you need to measure a small gap. For measuring rakers, straight edge from tooth to tooth and slide the appropriate feeler gauge underneath to see how big of a gap you have. On a new chain you want about. 025“. On a nearly worn out chain you want about .035 “ gap

Got it. Any particular set or range of sizes best for rakers? Or is a set of 32 on a fan design good?

Thanks Kevin. I actually learned something from you tonight that will definitely help me as I sharpen chains. I've kinda been guessing and sometimes I don't guess so good :). Sucks to try to cut with a chain that is grabby to the point it bogs a big saw.

Most of them range from .0015“ up to .035. Anything like that will work well for rakers
