Hopefully this is the correct thread, first husky I’ve worked on. I’ve got a 390xp I’m trying to tear down and have bought 2 different clutch tool that they say are for this saw but neither fit into the clutch. The number is 502522201 on one of them. What am I missing here? Thanks

As it turned out, 390 XP was equipped with 2 types of clutches. 503975001 in the picture and 537257501 like yours.
EDIT: Your clutch is probably 537257501. The clutch removal tool P/N for those is 504 00 23-01.

I looked at the 390 parts list and it shows both styles of clutch. The one you pictured would work with the tools I have because the hub is smaller. I might have to drop by the local dealer and see what they offer.

There is a tool for the newer style clutch (which you have) but I can't find the part number for it.

You can also use a hammer and a punch to knock it loose. There are square indentations between each clutch spring to put the punch.

Appreciate it for sure. I’m going to try the cut a socket method but if that don’t work I’ll order the factory tool. Socket will be here tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Socket work just fine, no need for a special tool , I’ve made a number of them for different applications,
