Is the 51.4 cylinder really that much better than the 50 ported?
To me in the stock setting there wasn't any difference

Does there need to be a difference? 51.4mm is more specialer than 50mm, and that’s all that matters.

When I bought mine you could pick up an xpw kit anywhere anytime. Not so the case now. I totally agree with you John. If I was looking for a ported oe I'd definitely just go 50mm for the availability as well. I have never ran a 50mm oe just a 50mm x torq. The xpw stock has more grunt than an x-torq for sure. Ported though the xpw outruns my muffler modded 7910!

I have one on a 2165, all it has is a cut base and it runs good!

The Xtorq can run good. I find less is more with that saw though. Gutting then just makes them run more finicky and inefficiently imo. To each there own. I like all the 372 variations, they all have there own character.

I will also say I noticed the newer mahle xtorq cylinders run better than the older husky branded xtorq cylinders (gillardoni?). The mahle is just a nicer casting. The newer xtorq carbs and xtorq coils seem to idle and have better manners than the older ones as well. Husky has definitely done minor improvements to them over time.

It’s not a monster, but I’m happy with my XS 2166. I was not before!
