Stumping is probably the most severe service that can be put on a chainsaw .Most likely more taxing than milling .You are right on the ground not much air flow, smothered in chips .To make matters worse the operator is breathing all those exhaust fumes as is the saw . You about need to set the saw a tad rich because you might be at it on a large stump a long time . Definitely not my favorite past time.

The 3120 is choked up to out of the box or the one I did was it also had spun the bearings in the CC now I too like Husqvarna but I think I would go with the 880. I do realize this can happen to any saw also. Hope this helps Norm.

I've never ran a 3120 but did talk to a logger that's been in the business for a long time. Said he hated the 3120 with a passion and the 880 was barely any better. Said he'd take an 084 anyday.

He now uses a 395
I do t own either of the 2 but I have run both of them and they both do what they are supposed to do. but I have found the new 661 with a skip chain is very versatile with felling bucking hard or soft wood I'm a lightweight but I wilL run whatever

Been some bad talk about the 661 and the big end bearings but a rich break in and 5 tanks later the stock saw will really shine and tear your ears up. I'd buy one if I wasn't a broke azz with lots of kids next big saw will be a echo 620pw. and slow break in
