Greetings, I have a 3.7 Craftsman 18" in bar and chain that I would like to install a 20" if possible because the current 18" bar and chain could use to be replaced. This machine is from 1984 so it's quite old. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Also I'm not sure if I posted in the correct area. Regards

You sure can. The correct bar mount is an Oregon D176 mount. Drive link count is 70 for a 20" bar and a 3/8 pitch chain.

For chain, I guess it depends if you want a chisel or semi chisel chain, safety or pro chain.

Oregon chisel pro chain would be EXL or LGX.

Just to be sure you have the Poulan model and not a Roper model.

The Poulan would look like this.

Yes,it looks identical to the picture. Thank you. Is the Oregon D176 bar the 20" bar? I ask because if I were to keep it as an 18" would the number be different. My concern is that I want to make sure the oil holes and the mounting nut holes align. Thanks for your help.
