Here we have a 288 project saw. I bought it thinking I'd get around to it, but no go. So its going up for sale. The saw has compression and spark, but I'm not sure the spark is strong. Cylinder looks good, and piston looks good through the exhaust port. It had a little fire from the coil wire being exposed and sparking on the cylinder. You probably would be smart to buy an SEM that comes with a spark plug wire and a spacer that goes over the intake block as thats a little melted. The bearings seem tight and good. The muffler is rusted and dented in the front but with a little TLC and paint should be good to go. The chain brake, which I didn't get a picture of, needs cleaning as its from another saw but its fully functional with no cracks or breaks. The cover is dirty and faded but complete with no melting and fully functional too. All in all a great candidate for a project. The only thing that is missing is an air filter. It has a brand new OEM coil wire. Thats it, if I left anything out I'd be glad to clarify. $200 plus ride. For another $100 you could have a good running 288. Thanks alot for looking.
