So I have been collecting parts for awhile to put a full wrap on a 268 I have. Finally got the last bit today and went to assemble it tonight. All bolted up but there is an issue...you cannot reset the chain brake. What am I missing or what is wrong?

Got any other 266,268,272's? Swap them around. I know they made several versions of brake flag. Could that one be aftermarket? And lastly,AARON!

Take the clutch cover off and try to reset it. If it does it's probably to close to that new handle to come to the catch.

If you fight with the bar tip under pressure it will reset. If not its a pain to get off. Yes its an AM flag... but the 266,268,272 saws were so plentiful most of the AM parts are pretty good.

There is a bunch of free travel for the flag, guess I need to minimize that some how. Experience is something Ill get right after I needed it once again!

I am wondering if it needs a metal flag style clutch cover

Oh hell don't worry about if it's assembled correctly just take a heat gun and warp the piss out of it that'll fix it.

The metal flags for a full wrap have a completely different shape than a half wrap. I can take a picture tonight. I don't know what a full wrap plastic flag looks like.

Find a broken metal half wrap flag and make one that fits.

Are you sure those are the right full wrap bars for that saw? I'm not used to seeing the front screw on the top cover that accessible. Usually you're up against the handlebar with the screwdriver when turning it.

It mounted and lined up correctly with no tweaking. I finally found an IPL referencing a different plastic flag for W/A saws. Bailey's also has a different clutch cover for wrap saws.
