I did but maybe not enough, it sure has alot of up and down
Travel compared to some carbs
you can't loose anything to try it out, you can always reverse it.
Since you did an rebuild, did you exchange the metering level&niddle?

Does your meter arm have the prongs on the end where the diaphram has to slide into?

Step number one, run the saw with no air cleaner. Change spark plug. See if the issue resolves. Any reduction in airflow will cause an overly rich issue. Cannot tell you how many times my self and others have made this mistake.

Did you pressure test the carb?

Try it. See if the fuel inlet holds pressure.

Some Carbs have 2 H enrichment circuits. One that's fixed and one that's adjustable. Sometime the fixed one just flows too much.

Don't worry about RPM. Worry about the 4 stroking. I've built a few spicy 262's at this point, and they struggle to get past 13,500 at the correct tune with the 144/120 carb. And that's with 240 psi compression, timing advance and a full woods port.

If all else fails, I have a 120 carb and a 262 flywheel here. You pay shipping and you can swap. If they fix your issue we can talk price, if they don't, just ship them back.

Thanks for reply , I need to pressure test it. Don't have a way yet but will in the future. I bought a used carb from a ope member and cleaned and Rebuilt it. It works great now.
I'm glad you mentioned rpm because I feel if I tune it more then 13500 it will be too lean. I got a 144 carb and trimmed the limiters so I got plenty of adjustment either way.
The saw runs great with a 20" bar and 7 pin. I was hoping for a bit more power out of it but never ran one before so I don't have anything to compare to other then my jred ported 2253 which it seems fairly similar but 261/262 has a bit more torque.
Im sure with the new piston maybe it will get better over time .
