Have a 2101xp for sale. Loathe to get rid of it but at my age it’s getting heavier everytime I use it (which isn’t very often). It’s complete and ready to work : starts, idles, oils and cuts wood but is very heavy compared to modern offerings. $500 shipped

It is a tecomec 090 muffler. Less restrictive than the stock muffler and gives a nice throaty sound. I do have the original muffler laying around somewhere but the condition is somewhat deteriorated. Imho the tecomec on that saw is an upgrade in performance. In combo with the velocity stack it lets the saw breathe much better and gives the operator more performance. Of course we can tighten the .052 squish and flow / port the cylinder and then it’s good nite Irene 💪

I've heard those are good mufflers but dang they look like a rollie pollie crawling out the engine.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Just did a simple angle iron mount. The holes on the tecomec had to be enlarged slightly as the distance between holes was slightly smaller than the exhaust outlet - a round file and about 5 minutes of work will get you there!

Flow-wise I would imagine it's a substantial upgrade. Even the Husqvarna "jungle" mufflers for the 2100/2101 are still somewhat restrictive. Did you have to modify the flange for mounting?
I got an 090 (am) muffler to put on my 2100 and to make it fit, I did have to widen the holes. By the time I got it finished, I ended up buying a 2100 muffler, but still have the other one to mess with. I will try to remember to take a pic of it.

I ended up getting a hold of someone who was selling a 2100 muffler and ended up going with it. I might throw on the 090 muffler to see what differences might be there, but it will be a while before I go hefting that saw, dealing with two bulged disks in my lower back right now.

Sorry to interrupt this thread but I’m curious after collecting these saws for many years to my recollection the husky 2101xp had a factory chain brake at least mine does? Just curious this saw looks like a 2100 cd am I way off ? Sorry for stepping in but maybe all the info I’ve collected from Canada maybe corrupted 🤷

You are correct, if the 2101 is all stock, then it will have a chain brake, the 2100 on the other hand came in two flavors, with and without, so it is possible that over the years on this one, the chain brake broke and the clutch cover was replaced with a non-chain brake version from a 2100. My 2100 doesn't have the chain brake but there are plenty of people here who have one with. They are interchangeable so you can set them up either way.
