200 mac question.

What do I need to know about one,value,parts availabilit?

I've been looking for a big Mac and this one runs and looks decent so is it worth 150$ or do I not throw rocks at this hornets nest?

To me, I wouldn't pay 150 for it even if it's near mint.
The 200 and 250's to me are 50 dolla saw. Mcculloch
made gazzilions of them.

A Super 250 is 87cc, it has a 1.635 stroke.

I've got just about every model of Mac made, you need to find one with the Super series engine. I can fix ya up with a running 1-76/740/790/795 for not much more than that 200.

They have the short flywheel side crank stub, and generally more aggressive porting, and higher compression. Some of the non super engines still run really good; the Super 250 is an example.

I'd say those series saws are worth about as much as you'd want to pay for an HL carb.
