I though I’d have some fun and see if I could do it, hope you enjoy the video!
And Harley golf carts. Some snowmobiles use that for reverse.
Yep was a big thing for the old Mercury snowmobiles, 2 sets of points and the key turned backwards to use the reverse timing set. Wrap a strap around the clutch and running backwards. Mercury also did this on the old in-line six cylinder outboards, was direct drive to prop and you started the engine backwards for reverse. These outboards became known as dock busters because of all the smashed docks from poorly tuned ones that didn’t fire right up when needing reverse. Ne polaris and skidoo’s run the engine backwards but rely on electronics to slow engine enough to reverse rotationSome snowmobiles use that for reverse.
Had a ms361 do the same thing but it was a cheap Chinese coil that did it, ran backwards once I shut it off then restarted it thing ran like a lazy turd because the timing seemed to be all over the place.I've had an 090 stihl clone go backwards when I didn't pull the starter fast enough.
